Family and Consumer Sciences

Health, wealth and general well being of the community of Grand County are a focus of Grand County Extension.  We develop partnerships with local organization and groups that help promote healthy and productive lifestyles for Grand County Families.

Family & Consumer Sciences has historically been focused on all things home economics: food preservation and preparation, budgeting, meal planning, sewing, baking, and generalized family support and operation. Today, FCS has broadened and deepened its role to include all the functional elements of families and how they stay healthy and resilient. Grand County families have diverse backgrounds and needs, and so many things from education to finances to meal planning and healthy relationships begin in the home. We are here to support your efforts toward health and wellness for yourself, your family, and your community.
